Wood butter (also known as board butter) is a food-safe, all-natural paste made from a blend of wax and oil. It is used to condition, restore, and protect wooden kitchen items—such as cutting boards, butcher blocks, and utensils—preventing them from cracking, warping, and absorbing moisture.
How it Works
• The Oil Penetrates: The Ingredients sink into the wood fibers, deeply hydrating the wood and preventing it from drying out.
• The Wax Protects: Natural Candelilla Wax stay on the surface, creating a water-resistant barrier that stops food liquids and bacteria from soaking into the wood.
Also add drops of essential oils - lavender or peppermint for a fresh scent
How to Apply
Applying wood butter is often compared to giving your wood "lotion":
1. Prep: Ensure the wooden item is completely clean and dry.
2. Apply: Scoop a small amount onto a cloth or paper towel and rub it into the wood in circular motions.
3. Rest: Let the wood absorb the butter. Ideally, let it sit overnight.
4. Buff: Wipe off any excess wax with a clean, lint-free cloth until the surface has a smooth, soft luster.
